Shri Jagmohan is person of many dimensions. He has been a civil servant of exceptional caliber. He has held meritorious and fruitful association with Delhi. He was the youngest Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi and the only one who held this high position for two terms. During his tenure the Capital organized successfully Asiad, CHOGM and the Non-Aligned Conference. He also held the post of Chief Executive of Delhi Development Authority. He was also the Lt. Governor of Goa, Daman & Diu.

For his significant contribution to the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Master Plan, he was awarded the `Padma Shri’ by the President of India. Subsequently he was also awarded `Padma Vibhushan’ for exceptionally meritorious services to the country. He thus has a unique distinction of having been nationally honoured twice. He was appointed twice to the office of Governor, Jammu & Kashmir. He carried out notable reform of the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. He was Member of Parliament for about fourteen years and Union Cabinet Minister for about five and a half years. He held charge of such significant portfolios as Communication, Urban Development, Tourism and Culture. He was conferred with a Degree of Doctorate in Philosophy by Kurukshetra University as well as Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

Shri Jagmohan's published work includes over 500 articles in leading newspapers and journals. He has written 6 books including ‘My Frozen Turbulence in Kashmir’.
